The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Pick 'n' roll: Thursday's best basketball bets

San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls (-2, 190.5)

Anytime the team with the best record in the NBA by far is an underdog, you have to take a close look. The host Bulls are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games. Over that span, the team has won six straight at home and climbed into the discussion for top seed in the Eastern Conference. But is there recent play good enough to trip up the Spurs?

San Antonio is 8-2 SU and ATS over its past 10 games, nine of which have been on the road. Oddsmakers, however, think a road weary Spurs team may decide to fold late against a physical, motivated Bulls team. Spurs coach Greg Popovich already has begun tinkering with his lineup to get players rest, including brining All-Star Manu Ginobili off the bench for the first time this season in a blowout win at Washington last weekend.

“They’re feeling a few bumps and bruises, but they’re character guys,” Popovich told reporters. “They’re professionals, and they know what’s expected of them. They know where they want to be at the end of the year and they’re working towards that. So no game can be left without trying to get better.”

And that’s just the way the Spurs have played this season. San Antonio has yet to mail in a game after nearly four full months of games. As underdogs, the Spurs are a phenomenal 6-1 ATS, always playing more rested or motivated teams close.

Don’t expect Thursday in Chicago to be any different.

Pick: San Antonio

COLLEGE FUNDS

UCLA Bruins at Stanford Cardinal (-1.5, 129)

No team in the Pac 10 is crashing the boards like UCLA. The Bruins have out-rebounded their past 10 opponents and during that stretch the team is a staggering 9-1 SU and 6-3-1 ATS. The recipe for success for UCLA is simple: grab rebounds to grab wins.

Sophomore forwards Tyler Honeycutt and Reeves Nelson have been two of the team’s biggest pillars in the paint. Over the team’s past five games—all wins—the duo is are combining to average nearly 20 caroms per contest.

"Honeycutt and Reeves in particular have been really consistent on the glass, and they're two of the best in the league," said UCLA coach Ben Howland. "That's a huge factor going forward."

Stanford, meanwhile, is coming off an 11-point defeat at Washington and has lost six of its past 10 games. Over that stretch, the team has failed to grab more than 30 rebounds five times. The Cardinal also haven’t been very successful against the Bruins lately. UCLA has won seven of the past eight meetings and is 4-3-1 ATS over that span.

“We’ve got to continue to get better,” Stanford coach Johnny Dawkins said.

The Cardinal will get better—just not against the Bruins.

Pick: UCLA

Ice picks: Thursday's best NHL bets

Atlanta Thrashers at Phoenix Coyotes (-160, 5.5)

The Phoenix Coyotes are proving their bite is just as strong as their bark. The team has won five straight by getting just enough offense and playing outstanding defense. But the real story has been the outstanding play of goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, who has made 16 straight starts and been the team’s anchor in its own end.

And he believes the team needs to continue playing strong when it is down a man.

"It was great penalty killing," Bryzgalov said. "It required hard work ethic and sacrifice. I think we did this, blocking shots, blocking the lane, make some saves.… This is the key."

The Coyotes are 21st in the league in penalty kill at a mere 80.5 percent, but have been much better during their recent winning streak. Phoenix has allowed power play goals in just one game during its winning streak and has allowed opponents to cash in on only two of their past 18 man-advantages.

The Thrashers, meanwhile, have been anything but dangerous on the power play. Atlanta has notched a mere four power play goals over its past 10 games. Not surprisingly, the team is 2-8 over that span. That’s way down from the top 10 unit it touts overall.

“If you keep putting the puck on the net, good things will happen,” Thrashers coach Craig Ramsay said. “Unfortunately, it didn’t happen that way.”

It won’t go his team’s way in the desert, either.

Pick: Phoenix

Vancouver Canucks at Nashville Predators (+105, 5.5)

The Vancouver backline is being held together by duct tape. The Canucks lost defenseman Andrew Albert to a broken wrist, Dan Hamhuis to a concussion, and Keith Ballard to a knee injury.

But that’s not all.

Kevin Bieksa is nursing a sore foot, Sami Salo is limited as he has just returned from a severe Achilles’ injury, and Christian Ehrhoff has been forced to become the steady hand of the backline.

“We were just joking around that it was a good d-zone practice out there,” Bieksa said of a recent game against the Wild. “But that's the way some games are; you weather storms. It seemed for a while we were just getting pucks out of our zone and surviving. But it was effective. It worked.”

Meanwhile, the Predators appear to be putting together some consistent offensive effort. The team has scored three or more goals in three of the past five games. Not surprisingly, Nashville has won each of those games and is 3-2 over that span. And playing well at home hasn’t hurt the team either. Nashville is 13-6-6 at Bridgestone Arena this season, including 5-2-1 in its past eight.

"Some teams don't do as well at home as they do on the road, but we definitely like having the home-ice advantage," defenseman Cody Franson said. "We love playing in front of our fans. We're fortunate to have the schedule the way it is right now."

Pick: Nashville

Bettors’ best friend (BBF): Thursday’s wagering tips

Who's hot

The Spurs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games.

The over is 6-1 in the Mavericks’ last seven overall and 6-0 in their last six road games.

The Islanders are 4-0 in their last four overall and the over is 4-0 in the Bruins’ last four overall.

Arizona is 5-0-1 ATS in its last six overall.

Who's not

The over is 0-7 in the last seven meetings between the Spurs and Bulls.

The Thrashers are 1-5 in their last six overall and 1-5 in their last six road games.

The Canadiens are 1-4 in their last five overall.

N.C. State is 1-8 ATS in its last nine overall.

Key stat

10 – Amount by which Clemson out-rebounded N.C. State in their first meeting last month, a 60-50 home win for the Tigers. The Wolfpack led by 19 at one point, but Clemson erased it—and then some—in part thanks to a 16-0 run to start the second half. Thursday marks the rematch between these two ACC foes and this one, of course, will be in Raleigh.

Injury that shouldn't be overlooked

The New York Rangers are reeling just a bit heading into Thursday night’s home date against Los Angeles. Wojtek Wolski (nine goals, 17 assists) is expected to be sidelined with a rib injury, so New York will have to pick up the slack at the left wing position. The Rangers are already shorthanded at the other wing position, as Ruslan Fedotenko is probably not going to be back from an appendectomy for at least two weeks.

Biggest game on the slate

San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls (-1)

Notable quotable

"It's not about me. It's not a big deal. This isn't Steve Yzerman against the Red Wings by any means. I want to watch the game, analyze it, take all the emotions out of it and think how our team matches up against some of the best players in the game. Hopefully we win in overtime or a shootout. We get two (points), they get one and we all leave relatively happy." – Tampa Bay Lightning general manager and former Detroit Red Wing great Steve Yzerman. Yzerman’s Tampa Bay team is going up against Detroit on Thursday for the first time since Yzerman took over as GM.

Tips and notes

Opposing defenses have been keying on Massachusetts’ star guard Anthony Gurley, and while he said he would be ready to deal with accordingly, that has not been the case. He went for double-figures in scoring over his first 22 games this season but has been held to few than 10 in two straight. In the previous game he hit 10 right on the number. Not surprisingly, the Minutemen dropped all three games to St. Joseph’s, George Washington, and Duquesne. Gurley has combined for 16 points on five of 28 shooting in his past two outings. Both Gurley and the Minutemen will be looking to turn things around on Saturday at Rhode Island.

The Bulls plan on using Thursday's showdown with San Antonio to gauge their progress. They hope they have made some, as they blew a 17-point lead and suffered a 103-94 road loss to the Spurs on November 17. "Every game’s a measuring stick for us," Chicago head coach Tom Thibodeau. "We know they’re going to test us in a lot of different ways. The game down there, we had a big lead early and we let it go. They’re going to keep coming at you, and we have to keeping going at them." Added point guard Derrick Rose: "Defensively, we have to stay together. This is a measuring stick to see how far we've come."

The Washington Capitals had a closed-door, players-only meeting last weekend after a listless 4-1 loss to Los Angeles. It looks likes the discussion may be starting to pay dividends. Washington turned in a solid 60-minute performance at Phoenix on Monday, albeit in a 3-2 loss. On Wednesday the Caps erupted for seven goals to pull out a 7-6 win at Anaheim. Now they visit San Jose on zero day’s rest. "You're going to go through games and times in the season where things aren't going to go your way," explained Scott Hannan, who instigated the closed-door proceedings. "You can have good games, you can have bad games, but you want to try to stay on an even track. That's what it is in the playoffs; you're going to go through things in a seven-game series that can get you down and you can't let it get you down or away from the plan."

NHL Betting Preview: Detroit at Tampa Bay
By: Barry Daniels

Detroit Red Wings at Tampa Bay Lightning (-115, 5.5)

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings will have more in common than sitting atop their respective divisions with an identical 74 points when the two clubs meet Thursday at St. Pete Times Forum.

Steve Yzerman was the captain of the Detroit Red Wings when the all-star forward led the club to three of its Stanley Cup titles. Yzerman is now bringing that same leadership to Tampa Bay in the general manager’s role, as his first-place club leads second-place Washington by six points.

The overnight line for this 4:30 p.m. (PT) contest has Detroit as a slight 110 road favorite. The total is set at 5½ ‘over’ (minus 140).

Despite injuries to forward Ryan Malone and defensemen Mike Lundin and Matt Smaby, the Lightning almost pulled off a come-from-behind victory in their most recent game against the Flyers on Tuesday night.

Tampa Bay trailed 3-1 in the second period before notching two goals within a 53-second span from Vinny Lecavalier and Teddy Purcell. The game eventually went into a seven-round shootout before Kimmo Timonen beat Tampa goalie Dwayne Roloson for the game-winner.

Roloson, who Yzerman acquired last month as netminding insurance for Dan Ellis, is now 9-5-0-1 with a 2.64 GAA, a .912 save percentage and four shutouts.

The Lightning, 1-for-4 with the man advantage in Tuesday’s loss, have now scored one power play goal in seven of their last eight games. The surge has lifted the club’s power play into fifth place with a 20.8 percent success rate. Tampa Bay is sixth in the league in overall offense, averaging 3.0 GPG.

Unfortunately, Tampa is also allowing 3.0 GPG, which ranks a poor 24th. The squad is yielding an average of 28.4 shots on goal per game, which is fourth most in the league.

Curiously, Tampa Bay is 17 games above .500 despite allowing one more goal than it has scored (176-175). The Bolts are 19-6-1-2 in 28 home dates, with the ‘over’ going 16-12. The ‘over’ is also 32-24-1 in their first 57 overall outings.

The Red Wings haven’t played since Sunday when they completed a home-and-home series sweep against the Bruins with a 4-2 victory as 115 home favorites. The Wings also registered a 6-1 win in last Friday’s game at Boston as 125 road underdogs.

Both games skipped above the closing total, leaving the ‘over’ 30-26 in Detroit’s first 56 contests. However, the ‘under’ is 15-12 in the club’s initial 27 road dates.

Jimmy Howard, who was between the pipes for both Detroit victories, is now 28-10-2-1 despite a less-than-impressive 2.82 GAA and .906 save percentage. The 27-year-old does have two shutouts.

Detroit’s defense, which ranks a poor 19th by allowing 2.9 GPG, should receive a huge boost Thursday when Brad Stuart returns. The big blue-liner missed 15 games after having his jaw broken from a blind-side hit during a Jan. 7 game against Calgary.

Offense continues to be of little concern for the men from the Motor City. The Wings are scoring an average of 3.3 GPG (2nd) and are sixth on the power play with a 20.5 percent success rate. They also average 33.2 shots on goal per game, which is third highest in the league.

Mike Babcock’s Wings, 17-8-1-1 away from Joe Louis Arena, are outscoring the opposition on the road by an average of 3.19 to 2.74.

This will be the lone meeting between the Wings and Lightning this season. Detroit has won the last four series matches, with the ‘over’ cashing on three occasions.

Tampa Bay continues its season-high 10-game homestand Saturday by hosting the Florida Panthers. The Wings’ next game will also be against the Panthers, but that will take place on Friday night in Florida.

Double Dribble: NBA TNT Doubleheader Betting Preview
By David Chan

San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls (-1.5)

The Spurs were thought to be too old. The Bulls were thought to be lagging behind Eastern Conference powers Boston, Orlando, and Miami.

That was then. This is now. More than halfway through the season, both notions have been proved incorrect. San Antonio (46-9, 34-19-2 ATS) and Chicago (37-16, 31-20-2 ATS) are two of the five best teams in the entire NBA heading into Thursday’s showdown.

The Spurs are No. 1 in the league and the Bulls are fifth, well ahead of Orlando and within two games of both Boston and Miami in the East.

Prior Engagement

This is the second of two clashes between San Antonio and Chicago this season. Playing at home on November 17, the Spurs erased 10-point halftime deficit by outscoring the visitors by a ridiculous 37-12 margin in the third quarter. San Antonio held on for a 103-94 victory to cover the 6.5-point spread. Tony Parker scored 21 points, Manu Ginobili added 20 and Tim Duncan had 16 points and 18 boards for the Spurs. Derrick Rose hit 15 of 27 shots and kept the Bulls in it with 33 points.

The Spurs won the rebounding battle 50 to 42, and that could be an even bigger problem for Chicago in this one. Joakim Noah, who had 10 points and 14 boards in the loss, is still out with a thumb injury and will not be back until late February.

Road Warriors

Thursday’s contest marks the end of San Antonio’s 2011 “Rodeo Road Trip,” the team’s annual foray away from the AT&T Center, which has been hosting the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

For the Spurs, this trip has been one of their best. They are 6-2 through eight games, including an 89-88 win over the Lakers on February 3. A victory over Chicago would better their 6-3 mark in 2008 and would be their best effort since going 8-1 on the trek in 2003.

“We just have to stay focused, that’s going to be the main thing for us,” guard Tony Parker told reporters after Monday’s 102-85 beat down of New Jersey. “Focus on defense. We have a lot of room for improvement. Even if I think we’re on the right track, I think we can do a lot of stuff better and we just have to stay motivated.”

Trending Topics

The Spurs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 7-0 ATS in their last seven against teams with winning percentages above .600.

The Bulls are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six home games against teams with winning road records.

The under is 14-6 in San Antonio’s last 20 overall and 7-0 in the last seven meetings between the two teams.

The Spurs are 6-2 ATS in their last eight trips to Chicago.

Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns (+1)

The Mavericks and Suns have faced each other only once this season going into Thursday night’s encounter. Playing at home on December 17, Dallas made a mockery of a 7-point spread and led by 21 points after three quarters before coasting to a 106-91 victory.

Phoenix (27-26, 23-28-2) played all but five minutes of the game without Steve Nash, who sustained a neck stinger in the first quarter. The Mavericks dominated with a balanced scoring attack. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Caron Butler (now out for the season) and Shawn Marion all scored between 15 and 18 points.

The Mavericks head into this game following a home date with Sacramento on Wednesday night. They are a respectable 7-4 (7-4 ATS) in the second of back-to-back games this season.

Trade Winds Blowing?

“When healthy, we’re the best team in the league.”

That was Dallas guard Jason Terry to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram earlier this week. Needless to say, Terry does not think the Mavericks (38-16, 29-23-2 ATS) need to do any wheeling and dealing as the NBA trade deadline approaches.

At last season’s deadline, they made a seven-player swap with Washington that brought in Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson. Speaking of Butler, there’s a minor caveat to Terry’s “healthy” comment. These Mavericks will never be completely healthy because Butler is out for the year with a knee injury.

Still, the Mavs have won 11 of their past 12 games and the only blemish in this current span is a 121-120 setback at Denver last Thursday. Dallas will have Roddy Beaubois (foot) in uniform for the first time this season and recently-acquired Peja Stojakovic scored 22 points in a win at Houston Saturday.

“This year, our team’s intact,” Terry continued. “We’re feeling good. We’re coming off a stretch where we won 10 in a row and we’re starting to get healthy. I think that’s the biggest key for us.”

Trending Topics

The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games.

The Suns are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six home games against teams with winning road records.

The over is 6-1 in Dallas’ last seven overall, 6-0 in its last six road games and 6-0 in its last six against the Western Conference. However, the under is 4-1 in Phoenix’s last five overall.

The over is 6-1 in the last seven meeting between the two teams in Phoenix. Both the home team and the favorite is 4-1 ATS in their last five encounters.

NCAABB NEWS AND NOTES
Temple, Richmond Top Thursday NCAA Betting
By: Willie Bee

Richmond Spiders at Temple Owls (-6, 131.5)

A trio of teams ruled the Atlantic 10 last season, eventually punching tickets to the Big Dance. The same three are on top of the conference standings once again, Xavier's 9-1 mark leading the way. Duquesne, the top A-10 team according to Ken Pomeroy, is trying to push its way into the role of party crasher with an 8-2 conference record that is currently fourth.

Between those two are the Temple Owls and Richmond Spiders, the two squads who eventually met for the 2010 A-10 Championship. Each school owns a 9-2 conference mark, and they'll break that tie Thursday night at Liacouras Center in Philadelphia (4 p.m. PT, CBS College Sports).

Both coaches bring their teams into the matchup running hot. Fran Dunphy and Temple (19-5 straight up, 14-10 against the spread) have come home victorious in their last six, an even 3-3 at the window. A 5-seed in last year's NCAA Tournament, the Owls have been hanging around at the bottom of the AP rankings the past two weeks and broke in at No. 25 in the latest coaches poll.

Chris Mooney's Spiders have won seven of their last eight, the lone defeat a poor 85-62 home effort against Xavier near the end of January. Seeded seventh in the South Regional a year ago, Richmond (20-6 SU, 12-11 ATS) is 10-3 away from home this season and has won all five of its A-10 road contests.

Richmond's most recent outing made both Spiders fans and bettors happy, a 64-52 home win over Saint Louis as 9½-point chalk. Six-ten senior Justin Harper led the way with a most effective 30 minutes of action. The team's leading scorer (18.0 ppg) was 7-of-9 from the field, 3-of-5 from outside, blocked four shots and grabbed nine rebounds in leading the Spiders with 22 points.

Harper could be primed for another big night if Temple has to play without Lavoy Allen. The 6-foot-9 senior missed the Owls' 75-63 win at Dayton last Saturday with an ankle injury and is questionable again for Thursday.

Ramone Moore stepped up big time for Temple in the victory over the Flyers. The local kid pasted a game-best 26 on his stats sheet, 11-of-13 from the line, and added nine rebounds. The Owls were three-point road favorites and it marked their third consecutive 'over' (131½).

It's been about 362 days since the teams last met, a 56-52 Temple win in the conference title tilt at Atlantic City. That contest pushed and stayed below the 116-point line. Richmond won and covered as two-point chalk in the regular season meeting at home, 71-54 (116½).

A lot of the same players yet different teams this year with scoring up on both ends of the court in their games. The Spiders are 11-9 'over' for the campaign, Temple 13-8. In addition to winning its last five on the A-10 highway, Richmond's conference games are 4-1 to the high side with the Owls' last five conference home tilts 4-1 'over.'

If Lavoy is out for Temple – and all signs point to that – expect Dunphy to try and slow things down a bit. He used just six players for 195 of the 200 court minutes in the win at Dayton and any early foul trouble for Michael Eric would be a huge setback since he's the biggest body to put on Richmond's Harper.

Temple could struggle to reach the low-to-mid 60s on their own unless someone like Juan Fernandez gets smoking hot from outside, something he hasn't done for the Owls so far this season. I'm liking a final score in the mid-to-upper 120s.

Temple will take a couple of days off following this game to prepare for Sunday's home tilt versus Saint Joseph's. The Spiders will return home to host St. Bonaventure the same day.
